Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group (NCIG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Garling as the new Chairman of its Board.   Phil succeeds Michael Egan who chaired the NCIG board for seven years.

Phil has an impressive background in the mining, energy, property and infrastructure sectors through executive leadership and board positions.  He is eager to use his experience gleaned in these roles over the past 30 years to support NCIG as Chairman.
“I’m excited to be part of a business that plays such an important role in the Hunter Valley Coal Chain and one of NSW’s largest exporters; generating over a billion dollars revenue for the NSW government,” Mr Garling said.
Having been onsite at NCIG several times over recent months, Phil said that after talking with people across the site, he is impressed with the emphasis placed on health, safety and the environment.
“It is obvious NCIG is a well-run business lead by enthusiastic staff and competent management,” Mr Garling concluded.
NCIG’s CEO, Aaron Johansen said they are very pleased to have someone of Phil’s calibre onboard.
“We are tremendously fortunate to have secured a person of Phil’s standing and experience to lead NCIG as we continue to strive to enable our customers to maximise value from their businesses,” Mr Johansen said.
“His strong background in mining, infrastructure and investment will be invaluable to NCIG. We welcome Phil to the team and look forward to working with him”.
“In announcing the appointment of Phil, the Board and I also want to acknowledge the significant contribution made by Michael Egan as the Chairman since operations commenced. His passion and expertise have been a great asset to the Company over this time,” said Mr Johansen.

The board wishes Michael well on his retirement
