NCIG wins award for health and well-being

NCIG's shared commitment to health and well-being

NCIG’s has been recognised at this year’s NSW Minerals Council HSEC awards for its Bounce Health and Wellbeing Program which is now in its fifth year.

After receiving an award in the health category, Chief Executive Officer, Aaron Johansen said reducing workplace safety risks and improving productivity are just some of the benefits of the Bounce program, which over the years has focussed on various aspects of health including weight loss, improving nutrition, increasing fitness and movement, as well as sleep quality and mental health.
“This recognition is much appreciated and obviously a great outcome for us, but our people are our most important asset and helping to improve their ongoing health and well-being is the best outcome we could have hoped for.”
The success of the Bounce Program is gauged not only on the results achieved in each of the focus areas, but also on the level of involvement from NCIG personnel, both employees and contractors.

“We are proud that our employees continue to engage in our health initiatives, with 98 per cent of the workforce taking part in this year’s challenge. It shows that our people value their health and are willing to take part in programs which, in this case, aimed to reduce prolonged sedentary practices both at home and at work,” Mr Johansen said.

Through the progressive implementation of the Bounce program since 2012, NCIG have been able to tailor the delivery of initiatives to address identified health priority areas and to suit our workplace culture. Bounce has seen a progressive improvement in health results and workforce participation over the years.

NCIG also won a NSW Minerals Council Award in the Environmental Management category, recognising the success of its Compensatory Habitat and Ecological Monitoring Program.
