Newcastle Coal employees recently attended a Christmas party held by Soul Café in celebration of the support received from volunteers and donors. Soul Café, which supplies hot meals to the highly disadvantaged in the Hunter region and operates with support of volunteers who provide more than 250 hours a week to cover breakfast and lunch shifts. NCIG recently provided funding for the Christmas with Soul project, to help vulnerable people in the region celebrate Christmas with their family and to recognise the wonderful people that donate their time to deliver the café services.
Funds will also go towards Christmas and New Year food and care packs to ensure people are receiving food during the holiday period.
HSEC manager, Nathan Juchau, spoke at the function saying Newcastle Coal was proud to support Soul Café and their programs that support the vulnerable. For more information about the Soul Café or to get involved, visit the website www.soulcafe.org.au.
